Fort McMurray, AB T9K
Come take part in the annual Terry Fox Run – a fun, family-friendly event offering a tots/kids “run”, a 2.5 km and a 5 km event on the Birchwood Trails in Fort McMurray. There will be great prizes to be won, and plenty of fun to be had! Come out and run, walk, bike, stroll, bring your kids, your pets….it is accessible to all and free to register in and participate!
Each year, over 9,000 Terry Fox Runs are held across Canada with the single mission of funding innovative cancer research.
Our volunteer-led and organized event is accessible to anyone – there is no minimum pledge, no entry fee, and offers a fun and non-competitive atmosphere. For millions of people worldwide, Terry Fox is the face of hope for cancer research. In 1980 his Marathon of Hope inspired a country and launched the annual Terry Fox Run in his honour. In its fourth decade, these events continue to motivate people here in Fort McMurray, across Canada, and around the world.
**Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Doug Barnes Cabin beside Frank Spragins School (Tamarack Way).**
**Register as an individual participant or as a Team at www.terryfox.org and you can begin raising donations/pledges that support the Foundation in funding innovative cancer research. To date, the Foundation has raised over $750 million for cancer research worldwide.
