Join us for the opening night reception of the powerful storytelling art exhibit “I See You: Sawubona” featuring local survivors’ personal experiences of hate and discrimination.

The “I See You: Sawubona” project is dedicated to giving us an opportunity to reflect on how we see others, it invites us to ask ourselves if we are really recognizing our own humanity in others, if we are really seeing each other or if we are allowing our own fears, biases, and prejudices to interfere in recognizing the value and beauty that each person brings to the society. The project gives this opportunity by sharing the stories and photographs of survivors who have endured discrimination based on their socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, religion, race, disability, and other grounds.

This exhibit is FREE and open to the public for viewing between Feb 15th and Mar 15th. Exhibit hours are Mon-Fri 2:00pm-8:00pm and Sat & Sun 11:00am-4:30pm. Please note that there is sensitive content included in the exhibit and ages 12+ are recommended.
